Cider
Cider consumption has grown enormously over the last couple of years, it showing the largest growth amongst all alcohol products. At Harvest we carry a large range, from both at home and abroad...it may well be the biggest range in Australia.
Pear cider has had a great deal of interest for people very recently, and we have a French one, as well as several English, and an Australian one.
It's our opinion that real quality cider with interest value comes from utilising quality cider apple varieties. Eating apples are classed as sweet varieties, but to achieve great complexity & interest one must turn also to bitter (tannic) and acidic varieties, of which there are few in Australia; something that I am sure will be remedied in the years to come.
Europe & Britain have hundreds of varieties of cider apple however, and hence ciders tend to vary greatly in style & have real complexity. France, England and Spain are the biggest producers.
So, why not try some of the great range of ciders stocked at Harvest. They make sensational food pairings and they really do have interest value.
